Add Multiple Time Duration Calculator

Use our free Multiple Time Duration Calculator which helps to calculate and sum the intervals between various sets of times. Results are presented in four different formats: HH:MM:SS format, Hours,  Minutes, and Seconds.

The primary function of this ‘Multiple Time Duration Calculator’ is to find out how much total time has passed between various sets of times. In this calculator, we fill the time in a 12-hour clock format, which divides the day into two parts: AM (Ante Meridiem, before noon) and PM (Post Meridiem, afternoon). This calculator could be used for various purposes, such as calculating work hours, travel times, event planning, or any situation where knowing the time difference is important.

Within this user-friendly tool, you can effortlessly configure the current time in a 12-hour format with a simple click on the clock icon (‘🕐’) located in both the Start Time and End Time sections.

If you want to remove any intermediate time set, simply click on the ‘X’ button located adjacent to that specific time set.

Additionally, you can copy the final result with a single click on the notebook icon (‘📋’) in the result section. & For a fresh start with the calculator, you can simply press the clear button.

Note: Multiple Time Duration Calculator specifically calculates the time interval between two events with a maximum time difference of less than 24 hours. For more than 24 hours time interval use our Date And Time Duration Calculator- Click Here

How to Calculating Time Duration of Vatious Sets of Times, Manual

In our ‘multiple time duration calculator,’ you can calculate and sum the intervals between various sets of times in four different formats: hh:mm:ss format, hours only, minutes only, or seconds only. However, during the manual process, I will only display time differences in the hh:mm:ss format. To learn how to convert hh:mm:ss format into hours only, minutes only, or seconds only, please refer to my post titled ‘Time To Decimal Calculator.’

This image illustrates the procedure for calculating the Total Time of two different sets of times using our Multiple Time Duration Calculator. The first set of times comprises 12:51:55 AM and 9:17:22 PM, while the second set includes 1:45:23 PM and 3:55:11 AM. Below, we present the step-by-step manual calculation process.

Set 1. The first time sets are 12:51:55 AM and 9:17:22 PM. To calculate the time difference, you can follow these steps:

Step 1: Convert both times to a 24-hour format (hh:mm:ss) using the following rules:

  • If the time is in AM and the hour (hh) is 12, then the new hour (hh) becomes old hour (hh) – 12.
  • If the time is in PM and the hour (hh) is less than 12, then the new hour (hh) becomes old hour (hh) + 12.

Start Time: 12:51:55 AM becomes 00:51:55.
End Time: 9:17:22 PM becomes 21:17:22.

Step 2: Calculate the time difference by subtracting the start time from the end time. 21:17:22 – 00:51:55
Step 3: Perform the subtraction for each component (First seconds, Second minutes, and Third hours).
For seconds: 22 – 55 = -33. Since the seconds are negative, carry 1 minute.
22 seconds + 1 minute – 55 seconds = 22 + 60 – 55 = 27 seconds.

For minutes: (17 – 1) – 51 = -35. Since the minutes are negative, carry 1 hour (60 minutes).
(16 + 60) – 51 = 25 minutes.

For hours: (21 – 1) – 0 = 20 hours.
So, the time difference between 12:51:55 AM and 9:17:22 PM is 20 hours, 25 minutes, and 27 seconds.

Now To learn how to convert 20 hours, 25 minutes, and 27 seconds into hours, minutes, or seconds individually, please refer to my article titled “Time To Decimal Calculator.”

Set 2. The Second time sets are 1:45:23 PM and 3:55:11 AM.

Start Time: 1:45:23 PM becomes 13:45:23.
End Time: 3:55:11 AM remains same 3:55:11.

Step 2: Calculate the time difference by subtracting the start time from the end time. 13:45:23 – 3:55:11
Step 3: Perform the subtraction for each component (First seconds, Second minutes, and Third hours).
For seconds: 11 – 23 = -ve. Since the seconds are negative, carry 1 minute.
11 seconds + 1 minute – 23 seconds = 11 + 60 – 23 = 48 seconds.

For minutes: (55- 1) – 45 = 9 minutes.

For hours: 3 – 13 = -ve. Since the hours are negative, carry 1 day.
3 hours + 24 hours – 13 hours =14 Hours.
So, the time difference between 1:45:23 PM and 3:55:11 AM is: 14 hours, 9 minutes, and 48 seconds.

Now To learn how to convert 14 hours, 9 minutes, and 48 seconds into hours, minutes, or seconds individually, please refer to my article titled “Time To Decimal Calculator.”

To obtain the final result, combine 20 hours, 25 minutes, and 27 seconds with 14 hours, 9 minutes, and 48 seconds.

Step 1: Add the hours together.
Step 2: Add the minutes together.
Step 3: Add the seconds together.
Step 4: Normalize the result by carrying over any excess minutes or seconds.

Let’s go through each step:

Step 1: Add the hours together:
20 hours + 14 hours = 34 hours

Step 2: Add the minutes together:
25 minutes + 9 minutes = 34 minutes

Step 3: Add the seconds together:
27 seconds + 48 seconds = 75 seconds

Step 4: Normalize the result:
Since there are 60 minutes in an hour and 60 seconds in a minute, you need to carry over any excess minutes or seconds to their respective units:

75 seconds is equal to 1 minute and 15 seconds (75 seconds ÷ 60 seconds/minute = 1 minute with a remainder of 15 seconds).
Add the carried-over 1 minute to the minutes from Step 2:
34 minutes + 1 minute = 35 minutes
Now, the result is:
34 hours, 35 minutes, and 15 seconds.

So, 20 hours, 25 minutes, and 27 seconds plus 14 hours, 9 minutes, and 48 seconds is equal to 34 hours, 35 minutes, and 15 seconds.

Final Result 34 hours, 35 minutes, and 15 seconds.
